Verdicts & Settlements
  • Phillips v. State Fair of Texas, "The Enterprise" case, which in 1984 resulted in a $15 million dollar settlement.
  • Settlement of a park-to-reverse wrongful death case against Ford Motor Company in 1990.  The amount paid in the settlement was confidential, but Ford acknowledged that at the time, it was the largest amount it had ever paid by settlement in a wrongful death case.
  • Truck wreck, tried in federal court in Tyler, Texas resulted in punitive damages of $2.5 million.  It was the first case in which Federal District Judge Steger submitted a punitive damage issue in a personal injury case.
  • Trial involving the tragic deaths of a number of children on their way to a church retreat in Glorietta, New Mexico.
  • Obtained a $10 million settlement for a 30 year old federal court briefing clerk who had been rendered permanently brain damaged and physically disable due to a truck wreck.
  • Managed the paper discovery in the 1989 Phillips Petroleum Plant explosion, which resulted in our client obtaining a $44 million settlement.
  • Case involving a death from failure to timely diagnose and treat a gastrointestinal bleed, that settled in 1994 for in excess of $2 million.
  • An 11 year old child whose herpes encephalitis had been undiagnosed and treated when she was 18 months old, leaving her permanently brain damaged.  The case settled for in excess of $2 million.
  • 1996, settled a truck wreck case involving head injuries to a high school football coach for a $4.5 million.
  • White v. Gulf States Utilities, a gas leak explosion case that resulted in a $8.5 million verdict.  The defense had offered $25,000.00.  This case was the featured case in National Jury Verdicts.
  • Toyota rollover that resulted in a passenger sustaining quadriplegia.
  • Lap belt injury sustained by the passenger in a rear center seat of a Chrysler passenger car that resulted in her sustaining partial para-paresis.
  • Medical Malpractice case involving failure to diagnose ruptured gastric ulcer.
  • Multiple death car crash resulting from a de-treaded Cooper passenger tire.
